The hotel was pleasant and exceptionally comfortable, and the staff were affable, really enjoyed the pleasant location so close to bus station, the centre of a quiet residential area and the city center of Hamburg. The economy king room we stayed in was good value for money and spacious with breakfast.

Friendly welcome. Night porter so open 24 hours. Good standard German style buffet breakfast, from 7.00 am at weekends. Only 10 minutes by bus 120/124 to Hbf station, and hotel only 100 yards from bus stop. Also walkable from Rothenburgsort S-bahn station. Close to Elbe river. Quite quiet location for a city.

Room was tiny with no tea or coffee making facilities. Close to transport. Staff were friendly, but for €79 a night with a good breakfast which included hot dishes, it was excellent value for money. Close to bus stop which gave easy access to the city.
Just the size of the room and the area may put some people off.

We had booked this hotel for 3 nights online in May 2012. The location of the hotel is within a fairly short bus ride to the main train station, from which most city or other excursions originate, as this station is the hub of the city, right in the business and shopping district. Also, from there one can even start most city and waterfront explorations by foot, with shopping and restaurant galore s along the way. The purchase of the hamburg card (14.00 euro) is strongly recommended if one is planning to make use of any attractions since this card not only allows one to use all modes of city transport (Bus, subway, ferry) and for up to 5 people, but it also entitles one for many discounts incl. The main attractions like harbour/city tours, miniatur train land, museums etc. and quickly adds up to a noticeable saving. If only interested in using public transport, a group ticket (again for up to 5 people) can be bought from the bus driver but only after 9 am. For 9.90 euro. Also free internet access can be had inside the room if asked for the w-lan code at the desk, and the breakfast buffet is ok
The main thing we did not like about the hotel is the lack of even a small fridge inside the room, especially if hot outside and one would like a cold drink at any time. The rooms - we had "Economy" are extremely small, and the noise from traffic even during night can be disturbing especially since there is no air condition in the room. Very limited space to even place a second piece of luggage. The beds were comfy and the place was clean, but the only elevator designed for 4 people would make it impossible to carry any luggage if filled to capacity. Even just 2 people with one full size suitcase will feel crammed. I would use this hotel again if for a short stay and just to sleep, but not for extended stays. Even Economy is not cheap, but I guess Hamburg as a whole is not the place to save money.

very good value-for-money (at least my rate) for a hotel in Hamburg and if you prefer slightly smaller/cosier hotels; modern, clean and comfortable room; very good breakfast; located close to residential area; was travelling by car - so I cannot comment on public transport connections; approx. 5 km from downtown; reserved parking for extra fee in the basement garage recommended

Convenient Location 🚇
This place is super close to public transport, the main train station, and the city center. Plus, there are loads of restaurants nearby, like the Giraffe Stop soup joint just a 10-minute walk away.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were quite small but we only stayed for two nights so it was fine for that time. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet.
It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The garage was quite awkward to access with a big car (there were six of us in the car).
